Every story takes shape in a unique way. The process is different for every writer and for every book. Whether writing a book of fiction, memoir or non-fiction, a writer always tells a story. As a book coach Michaela helps writers to lay the fertile ground on which they grow their idee into a compelling tale.
A for Assessment ~ $1490
You need a book coach before you hire a copy editor or a proof reader for your manuscript.
A book coach gives you more than a developmental editor.
You wrote your first draft (or the fifth draft), you shared excerpts with your writers group, you did the best work you could do. Now you want to hire a copy editor and a proof reader.
Manuscript Assessment* includes:
- editorial letter (10-15 pages ) with full assessment of your manuscript of up to 250 pages / 75000 words covering:
- story structure
- scene structure
- character arc
- dialogue
- In-line editing on your first twenty pages (6000 words).
- One-hour coaching call discussing your book (60 minutes.)
But you would miss an important step. Hire a book coach to evaluate your manuscript. It’ll save you headache and heartache, time and money.
The assessment of a book coach will give you a clear sense of where you are in the process and know which steps to take to get your manuscript into shape and ready to publish.

- Before we start, schedule a free discovery call. In which we will discuss your writing sample from your manuscript.
- At the start of our work together, you commit to submitting your full payment along with your completed draft.
- Schedule a one-hour-long zoom call after you have received my edits and written feedback.
- Be open to guidance, new ideas, and new tools you may not have used before.
- Be honest about what is or is not working during that call.
- Ask for help if you need it.
B for Blueprint ~ $2990
The Blueprint for a Book can be used before you start writing your book or after you’ve written the first draft. It looks at the building blocks of your story and helps you find the answer to important questions that reveal the essence of your book.
This work usually takes between two to three weeks.
Whether at the start or after your first draft, you’ll keep the Blueprint in your toolbox for the next book you write.
You want a clear vision and a solid structure for your book?
This groundwork includes:
- Guidance during each of the fourteen steps you take towards the completion of the Blueprint for your Book.*
- Comprehensive written editorial feedback on the pages you submit.
- Three one-hour coaching calls to discuss your book as it evolves.

C for Comfort ~ $6600
Ongoing developmental support over six months to finish your first draft or get you through revision. Bi-weekly deadlines keep you focussed on writing new pages. This package provides structure, accountability, motivation, and clear next steps for each assignment.
This cosy coaching package includes:
- Bi-weekly deadline = 12 submissions of twenty pages* / 6000 words = the entire draft (max. 240 pages / 72000 words.)
- Written editorial feedback on each submission.
- In-line edits on each submission.
- Six one-hour 1 on 1 coaching calls discussing your work and next steps.
- Continuous email support over six months.
