If you can make it here…
It was the first week after I moved from Los Angeles to New York. I walked the streets to get a feel for my new home town. Twice as many people live here than in Los Angeles. Add the tourists and the number of people doubles to about 16 million people. I had spent a serene hour at Madison Square Park and was on my way home. It was a lovely sunny afternoon. A commotion and a few shouted words caught my attention. Crossing a side street, a young woman concerned herself with an elderly man who waved her away…

New York City 101
When I moved to New York I had to re-learn walking. In Los Angeles I went swimming and all I had to watch out for were sharks and rip-tides. Walking in New York it’s not the sharks or cars you have to watch, but the stream of pedestrians. I learned quickly that — much like with rip tides— you have to go with the flow. temporary stationary
She was more impressed with the coat of arms than the handwriting on the stationary. Of course, she wanted to meet again. She answered days later—not playing hard to get—it took her that long to decide on the color theme. Her letter returned. No such resident. He already moved on? On the phone her girlfriend laughed at her, trying to steer her away from that knight in shining armor. The doorbell rang and roses—one for each day he hadn’t seen her—were delivered “with love.” The card came from a different hotel. New York City this time. Rom-com/to steer/stationary
