Premium Packages

Every book takes shape differently. The support you need depends on where you are in the writing process and what your book needs next. My premium packages offer three different ways to work with me, from assessing a completed manuscript to developing its structure to providing ongoing support through writing and revision.

A for Assessment ~ $1490

You need a book coach before you hire a copy editor or proofreader for your manuscript.

Before you invest in copy editing or proofreading, make sure the bigger pieces of your book are working.

You wrote your first draft (or the fifth draft), shared excerpts with your writers group, and did the best work you could do. Now you’re looking for guidance on structure and a reader connection, and a clear path toward publication.

A manuscript assessment provides you the honest big-picture evaluation, looking at the larger elements of your book and gives you a clear sense of what is working, what needs attention, and which steps to take next.

Manuscript Assessment includes:

  • editorial letter (10-15 pages ) with full assessment of your manuscript of up to 250 pages / 75000 words answering questions like:
    • Does the manuscript have a compelling structure?
    • Where does the reader connect or lose interest?
    • What material is missing, unnecessary, or underdeveloped?
    • What would need to change before pursuing publication?
  • In-line editing on your first twenty pages (6000 words).
  • One-hour coaching call to discuss your book .

What Working Together Looks Like

• You submit your completed manuscript and payment at the beginning of our work together.

• We schedule your one-hour coaching call after you have received and reviewed the assessment.

Book Coach for memoir, fiction and nonfiction
Michaela’s questions were instrumental for me in finding themes my novel really is about. Her guidance helped me get to the essence of what I need to write, which parts to let go of, and where to dig deeper.

B for Blueprint ~ $2990

You need a clear structure for your book before you commit to writing the whole thing.

The Blueprint for a Book can be used before you start writing your book or after you’ve written the first draft. It looks at the building blocks of your story and helps you find the answer to important questions that reveal the essence of your book.

Completing the Answer Sheet for your Blueprint usually takes between two to three weeks.

Whether you create your Blueprint before you begin writing or after your first draft, the Blueprint helps you find the deepest emotional story and a structure that will allow that story to reach the reader.

This groundwork includes:

  • Guidance during each of the fourteen steps you take towards the completion of the Blueprint For Your Book.
  • Comprehensive written editorial feedback on the pages you submit.
  • Three one-hour coaching calls to discuss your book as it evolves.

What Working Together Looks Like

• Payment is made in full at the beginning.

• Three coaching calls are scheduled as the Blueprint develops and is reviewed.

Interested in Working With Me?

The first step is to tell me about your book and where you are in the writing process.

After you submit the questionnaire, I’ll invite you to schedule a free discovery call with me. We’ll discuss your book, I will answer your questions about the process, and we determine whether working together is the right next step.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on where you are with your book and what kind of support you need next.

If you have a completed manuscript and want an honest, big-picture read before pursuing publication, Assessment is the right fit.

If you’re still shaping your story — before you start writing, or after a first draft — Blueprint helps you build a clear structure to write from.

If you need ongoing accountability and support to actually finish a draft or get through revision, Comfort is designed for that longer journey. If you’re not sure, the discovery call is exactly the place to figure that out together.

No. You can work with me at different stages of the writing process.

You might come to me with an idea and need help figuring out what book you are building. You might have a first draft that needs structure. Or you might have a completed manuscript and need an honest assessment of what is working and what needs attention.

The right starting point depends on where you are and what your book needs.

It also depends on the package you chose. An Assessment requires a completed manuscript, since it’s evaluating the whole. Blueprint can be used either before you’ve written a word or after a first draft. Comfort is built for writers actively drafting or revising, so a finished draft isn’t required going in.

I work with memoir, fiction, and nonfiction, including writers who are adapting a screenplay into a novel.

For nonfiction writers who are preparing to approach agents and publishers, I also offer specialized Book Proposal Coaching focused on developing and presenting the book for the publishing marketplace.

I do not coach books generated by AI.

I am not the right coach for stories that describe violence in explicit, vivid, and disturbing detail.

For $1,490, you’ll receive a 10–15 page editorial letter assessing your full manuscript (up to 250 pages / 75,000 words) — covering structure, where readers connect or lose interest, what’s missing or underdeveloped, and what to consider before pursuing publication. It also includes in-line editing on your first twenty pages (6,000 words) and a one-hour coaching call to discuss the assessment once you’ve had time to review it.

Assessment is built for a completed manuscript — it’s a diagnostic look at what’s working and what needs attention. Blueprint is for building the structure itself, either before you start writing or after a first draft, working through fourteen guided steps to uncover the essence of your book. Blueprint includes written editorial feedback and three coaching calls over two to three weeks, rather than a single comprehensive letter.

Comfort is a six-month package ($6,600) for writers who want sustained structure and accountability to finish a first draft or work through revision. It includes twelve bi-weekly submissions of twenty pages (6,000 words each, up to 240 pages / 72,000 words total), written editorial feedback and in-line edits on every submission, six one-hour coaching calls spaced across the six months, and continuous email support throughout.
